Ethiopian National Media Support (ENMS), is a leading local CSO founded on May 12, 2020, for a nonprofit that aims to improve the Ethiopian media landscape through comprehensive support; capacity building, research, a database about Ethiopian media, professional training to media houses, journalism associations, journalists, and other key media stakeholders in Ethiopia.
Particularly, we engage in media research, comprehensive professional and capacity building, media monitoring and analysis, media leadership, media inclusiveness, empowerment, access to information, right to information, a database about Ethiopian media, archive services, and professional media development projects activities and workshops at the national level.
ENMS is dedicated to helping bring holistic professional and institutional development to Ethiopian media in general and to practitioners, educators, researchers, and communication experts in particular. ENMS has been staffed by professionals who have excelled in knowledge and expertise on media with immense interest in contributing to the development of the Ethiopian media by having the supposed role a media is assumed to play. ENMS aspires to support and fill gaps and cracks widely observed in the Ethiopian media, which still suffers from a weak economy, lack of independence, skewness, partiality, and so on. It is vividly seen that the media has been so weak so that it impacts the social, political & economic aspects of the country. Geographically, ENMS’ coverage is countrywide.
